BOOK RELEASE: Knight's Fall (bk4 Boys in Blue series at Total E Bound)

That's right! It's been a while but I finally got another book out. The Boys in Blue series continues with Knight's Fall, featuring Liam Knight (the new partner at the end of Dangerous Distraction) and Andy Powell (the FBI sleaze-turned-honey from Reasonable Doubt).
BUY NOW!
BLURB:
Andy’s cavalier attitude about sex keeps his emotions safe, but when Knight moves Andy’s heart, it’s a game of trust Andy isn’t sure he’ll win.
The Senator has decided that interdepartmental tension can be alleviated by a week of team building camp exercises. No one is immune as the first group arrives comprising multiple government departments. Among them are FBI agent Andy Power and Detective Liam Knight.
Having met six months ago was challenging enough. After all, Andy made an idiot of himself. He’s used to being the confident Fed who casually uses sex as he chooses. Some think he’s too free, but Andy knows they're only seeing his persona. But Liam Knight is different. He’s actually someone Andy wants a relationship with.
Liam thinks the klutz he met is kind of cute, if dorky. Yet the guy he has to partner with at camp is a bit on the cheesy side with slick come-ons and preformed ideas about Liam. Just when he thinks he can’t stand the guy, Andy’s mask slips away and leaves Liam breathless.
When the week is up, will Liam have cut through the bullshit or has Andy decided that trusting Liam with his heart isn’t worth the risk?* * * * * * * * * * * *

Excerpt From: Knight's Fall
Agent Andy Powell could take down kidnapping cases, insurance fraud, and stake out the meanest sons of bitches littering the planet. He could seduce men into bed with a glib comment, or a slutty one. He’d done it before. He’d tried with Mack Sullivan. He might have succeeded if Mack weren’t so in love with Geo. But Andy had known he didn’t stand a chance with Mack. He’d had that look in his eyes when he talked about his partner that announced Mack was taken.
Andy had made a move on him anyway. Call him a fairy godmother, but he hated to see men insecure about their relationships for no apparent reason. It’s why he’d made the play. A sleazy one for sure. Persistent and a bit bitchy, Andy had pushed Mack knowing that until he admitted he loved Geo, the couple didn’t stand a chance of weathering the very forward advances of Geo’s ex.
Okay, and if Mack had slipped up and slept with Andy, then Andy would admit he’d been wrong about the two and take one for the team.
As though sleeping with Mack could be a hardship, he thought, snorting to himself.
It was a service to struggling gay men that Andy provided. Claiming that identity and that of a crack FBI agent seemed a whole lot easier than just being Andy Powell, single man. Wearing the armour of the job was easy. Being himself and rejected for it sliced him to the core every time.
Thank God, Mack and Geo had each other. Andy felt more than a little bit of giddy pride for helping them.
Andy lifted his Cosmo, playfully swirling the pink liquid before taking a sip. Barbeque smoke drenched the air with savoury aromas and his stomach growled with appreciation.
Mack gathered the attention of his family and select friends by clinking on his mother’s drinking glass. Andy smiled, knowing from the flush of the handsome man’s cheeks what would happen next.
“Here it comes,” Nate Giamanti said.
“No way. Not at a mixed barbeque. He’ll tell his family privately,” David Rook argued.
“Get that fiver ready. I’m telling you, he’s gonna announce,” Nate countered.

OMG! I'm releasing!!

...and I completely forgot.
Reasonable Doubt is out now at Total-E-Bound!!!
BLURB:
Geo Wilson’s feelings for his partner Mack Sullivan run deep. But formerly straight Mack won’t come out to his family, no matter how Geo tries to encourage him. So when Mack makes no effort to discourage the woman his family sets up for him, Geo wonders if he missed the break up memo.
Mack’s apparent rejection hurts and Geo begins to have reasonable doubts about where they stand.
For Mack, taking the next step is a huge risk and one Geo has never taken before. Geo’s sudden coolness could be a sign of changing affection. It wouldn’t be the first time Geo has left a broken heart in his wake and Mack’s beginning to wonder if he’s just become another notch in Geo’s belt.
EXCERPT:
“No fucking way! No fucking way!” Geo Wilson laughed, holding his arms open as he walked away from Mack.
Mack Sullivan shared his grin, although he figured his version had a touch of curiosity to it. What the fuck was Geo on about? He turned, his eyes following the fluid stride of his lover as he moved towards a woman. Geo’s larger frame partially obscured her. Mack’s gaze stayed on Geo, the Dunne case file in his hands completely forgotten.
“Lauren. Holy shit. What are you doing here?” Geo asked, excitement and pleasure vibrating in his low husky tones. The same sexy tone Geo used on Mack when he was pleased…or about to get pleased.
Lauren? The spiralling red curls crushed on Geo’s shoulder as he hugged her, the long sleek creamy legs beautifully tipped by four-inch heels sent Mack’s stomach into a painful spiral of dread. Lauren Stratton.
Geo held her away, looking down into her upturned face like it held precious jewels. Jealousy left bitter bile in Mack’s throat.
“Look at you. Woman, you look amazing. Obviously being a Fed agrees with you. C’mon.” Geo took her under his arm and headed back towards him. “Mack, look who that cat dragged in.”
“Yay,” Mack replied flatly.
“Sully, you’re as hunky and as outspoken as ever,” she snarked.
He fucking hated it when she called him Sully. She knew it, too.
“What brings you to Maple Grove P.D.?” Geo asked, still oblivious to her subtle slam on his partner.
“That, actually.” She snatched the file out of Mack’s hands. “The little girl was taken after her correspondence with someone on the Internet. That makes it mine.”
“Suspected correspondence. No proof,” Mack said.
“Aw, you still have that sulky pout. That’s a sexy look for you, detective,” she said, lifting a finger to nudge his bottom lip.
Mack swatted her hand away.
“It’s sexy, isn’t it Geo?” she asked.
“Damn sexy,” he agreed, a slow smile pulling his lips into a kissable grin.
Mack nearly smiled with him, but someone might notice and they weren’t out yet as a couple.
Lauren’s gaze sharpened. She looked from one man to the other. Mack looked at the file as though he could read through the manila coloured card stock.
“What?” she asked, suspiciously.
Mack looked up at her, cocked a brow with disinterest. “You’ve got my file. I want it back.”
“No, not that. The other thing,” she said, now turning her attention to Geo.
Geo shook his head as though he didn’t understand her curiosity either.
“The look you just gave Sully. What’s that about? That’s not a typical look, that’s the look you used to give me when you wanted to haul me into the sack.” Her eyes widened, her mouth opened.
Geo discreetly lifted his hand off her shoulder and cupped it over her gaped mouth. “Hush now, baby. What you think you know, no one else does. Keep it to yourself. Got it?”
She nodded. Shock registered in her eyes, and Mack felt his chest swell with pride for his man, smugness at besting Lauren Stratton.
Just as casually as he’d done it, Geo lowered his hand from her face. His expression was warm and companionable. He didn’t seem affected by Lauren’s return. But Mack knew from experience that Geo was good at hiding his true feelings.
What was he feeling now, his arm around his old flame?
Anyone who’d been around the station for the past five years knew about Lauren and Geo. They’d been a hot item until she’d left him for the FBI. No warning. No Dear John letter. Nothing. She’d packed a suitcase and took off the next day. The bitch of it had been that she’d known she’d passed the testing and interviews for the position in the district office. She’d known and she’d still neglected to tell Geo she was leaving him.

Got Art

We went through one generation of mullet hair and I had to have the cover artist add glasses to one of the guys, long hair to my Asian dude, and change one of the background hotties to an African American. It's a very well rounded book. With lots of *ahem* action... and stuff. I'll post a blurb on it later, but for now, enjoy the art.
Oh and also, go over to Stumbling Over Chaos where a lucky winner will get a copy of each of the four stories in the Not Quite Wicked anthology... the one with my story, Open Sesame. The drawing is tomorrow! Head over and make sure you enter for your chance to win. Click the link and scroll til you find it.

Evil Mia
Other shit: One of my editors asked me about my third Darkness book and what I had in mind for it. This is how our conversation went:
Me: "I haven't written (book) three yet but it will have Thex in it and Sylvia as a kind of horrible and dark Drew and Spike (buffy), along with Raith as the lead. I MUST MUST MUST throw in Rinc and Jaecar in their continued terrorizing of Tony as the distant subplot... because it amuses me."
Ed: "Because it amuses me... OMG! I read that line and suddenly had the urge to bow down... (LOL!) You know, like you're some evil queen I must show my undying loyalty to or else wind up a pawn in a wicked, wicked game orchestrated solely for your amusement."
Me: "I need this (evil queen bit) embroidered on my bed pillow. It can be my proof to all and sundry who enter my bedroom that bowing is accepted here... Or perhaps a shirt that says, "Because it amuses me..." to wear to (big author's convention)."
Ed: You know, it's such a perfect response to everything why --"But Mom... Why do I have to do the dishes?" "Because it amuses me."--"Why do you want me to put the bread and eggs in a separate bag from the rest of your groceries?" "Because it amuses me for you to do so." --"Why do you want me to strip down, roll around in maple syrup, then dance the hokey-pokey?"
"Because it will amuse me." See? No matter the situation, if there is a why, you have an automatic response.
This is why I love my editors. They are ever so entertaining. You must go get one while supplies last.
Note to self: "Mia, definitely have the shirt made."

I HAVE A LOVE AFFAIR WITH BLOCK QUOTES EVEN THOUGH I TRULY HATE THE SPACING ISSUES
I've begun Mind F*cked. Only six hundred words in and my internal editor has begun yapping. Meanwhile, I received an email from one of my publishers that edits will arrive in my inbox within minutes. Which is where I suddenly remember that, oh yes, I have a release out next Tuesday.
Technically, Sex Ed is part of the Hot for Teacher anthology along with stories by Bronwyn Green, Brynn Paulin, and Cara Hart, though they'll be sold separately. All release on the 19th and all get bound together for print publication in ninety days with a completely different cover. My recommendation, if you care to hear it, is to purchase the individual story you wish to read thus keeping your expense low. Preferably mine if you must choose. Ideally, all as they are well written jewels of creative effort.
The blurb looks something like this:
Mina Lasky has a pesky crush on Biology professor, Derek Link. They’ve worked in tandem in the same University facility long enough that even the sound of his voice makes her hot. It’s time to put the fantasy to an end. Mina signs up to be his guinea pig in a female sexuality lab for those on the doctorate track. She hopes to work Derek out of her system while enjoying some much needed sexual stimulation.
Dr. Derek Link has been itching to get his hands on the quiet, sexy Chemistry professor. He can’t believe his luck when she signs up to be his lab. But one night isn’t enough and Mina won’t admit they can have something a lot more long term.
And when one of the students recognizes Mina, her heart isn’t the only thing on the line. With her career in the hands of a blackmailer, and her heart begging to trust Derek, she’s beginning to think the lab was a very bad idea.
Other shit: I ran into D today. Well, not actually. It was more like I found myself sipping from a fountain (as I do when thirsty), swung around to return to my cube, saw D checking out my assets, and choked. Except choke would suggest the water in my mouth went down my throat with definitely did not occur. But I did discover two things: A pale silk necktie looks nearly cobalt when wet. And a second dimple comes out of hiding when D laughs. Which he did. A lot.
Note to self: "Mia, invest in water bottle."
I hereby declare that Love Bites is a goddess of brilliance. Do you see that
sexy spacing up there? Yeah, she did that. No more block quote issues.

Release Cumming
Next week.
Will be hosting a contest for free download of CbD awarded on the 3rd. Entrants agree to respect copyright laws and maintain ownership of awarded copy without reproduction of any kind. Commenters between now and 11:59pm on March 3rd will be entered in Book drawing.
Comment. My desire is to give a book away. My first book. Ever.
Other shit: Put note in work refrigerator indicating Terry might wish to get a life. Stalking innocent Mias are not recommended for her health.
More other shit: At home, met up with T moving final boxes. Patterson insists new occupant will arrive March 1st. Am eager to set eyes on new neighbor and perhaps take interim days to bore hole in shared wall.
