possible sequel

As I mentioned yesterday, I am looking into the possibility of writing a sequel for Bad Boys. The first released earlier this year and I've been surprised by four requests for another book involving Mack and Geo. While I supplied a Happily Ever After in the first book and tidied up loose ends, it appears there is some curiosity to the mechanics of that happy ending after the end of the book.

Jen, in her review, specifically wondered what crazy antics would occur when the men came out to their families and Mack's little sister discovered that the object of her crush was in love with her brother? Since both men were straight prior to their relationship, what kind of adjustment would they have to make after they committed to one another for the long term?

I decided these were all valid questions and petitioned my publisher (Total-E-Bound) and my editor (Michele) about a second book. There was interest! Michele promptly responded with a request for my proposal, which I sent. However, like all great companies, TEB does prefer a signed contract and there is paperwork involved in that as well. So I submitted my request, formally, along with a proposed back cover blurb and it has been sent off. If and when a contract is offered, I will certainly let you know.

The suggested release date (if all goes according to plan) is June 21st, 2010 for the tentatively titled, Reasonable Doubt. My proposal read thus:

Contemporary Erotic Romance, M/M genre

Dubbed “The Twins” by the department, Mack and Geo not only look similar but depend on one another to get the job done. Unexpected and mutual lust almost cost them their jobs.

Geo’s pretty sure his feelings are for real, but he has reason to wonder about Mack. Formerly straight, Mack came into their physical relationship full of doubt. Facing down their families and their boss may just break him, especially when Mack’s ex-girlfriend is transferred to their department and she isn’t interested in staying forgotten.

Mack’s apparent indecision hurts. Mack and his ex are getting cozy while Geo’s patience is running out. Maybe he was wrong and his brief relationship with Mack was nothing more than an experiment. Maybe he should fuck that guy from homicide and call Mack an aberration in judgment.

The partnership is in trouble. Ex-girlfriend, new interests, a dangling career which can’t sustain another hit, a drug-related murder, and coming clean to his family have left Mack with reasonable doubt about where he stands with Geo. If Mack takes the next step and comes clean to his family, will Geo join him or will he leave Mack hanging like his other conquests?

Review for Bad Boys through LoveRomancesAndMore, assessed by Tina. Thank you, Tina!

FOUR HEARTS

Geo Wilson isn't gay, so why is he having dreams about his partner Mack? During a drunken stupor Geo kisses Mack. To make matters worse, when Mack brings him home, he tackles him giving him pleasure he never imagined.

Mack isn't gay either. So why did he enjoy Geo's touches and that kiss? The partners can't seem to keep their hands off each other during stakeouts. This could spell trouble for their careers, when they lose sight of a suspect. Their boss isn't happy but is willing to give them a second chance. Will this newfound fondness for each other be the end of their professional lives and where will it leave their friendship?

Whew! If you're into M/M then I must say Ms. Watts is your writer. BAD BOYS, BAD BOYS keeps you wondering what they're gonna do about their attraction for one another. I found myself drawn to Geo from the moment he sat on the barstool. Following him while he battled the demons of his attraction for another man, was a must for me.

The way Ms. Watts weaves a tale of romance and adds a hint of suspense had this reviewer looking for all her books. BAD BOYS, BAD BOYS won't leave you disappointed. Dubbed `the twins' in the book, Geo and Mack both share the same looks and are very manly.

BAD BOYS BAD BOYS is a quick read, but it will leave you craving more. This reviewer highly recommends this book for lovers of M/M erotica.

WOW. I'm on a happy buzz.

TITLE: Bad Boys, Bad Boys
AUTHOR: Mia Watts

BOOK BLURB:
Geo Wilson has been partnered to Mack for three years. Sharing the same muscular build, dark hair, and olive complexion, they've been dubbed 'the twins' by the department. But lately Geo's dreams have taken an erotic twist to center around Mack.

Mack values his friendship with Geo, would give his life for the man. Then one night Geo has a few too many beers and plants a kiss on him, he can't forget. He might have been able to pass it off as beer-haze except in helping Geo get back to his apartment, Mack is taken off guard by Geo's tackle and a mind-numbing blow job.

Now the partnership has to redefine itself while the criminal world continues around them. They could lose their badges, or lose each other.

BOOK REVIEW:
Geo has a problem. He’s seriously lusting after his straight partner and best friend, Mack. After a night of too much beer, though, Mack now knows and he’s freaking out about it. Not just because a guy kissed him, but because it was Geo, and he liked it. So now what? What do they do now that they’re each feeling something they think they shouldn’t?

I love a good friends-who-become-lovers story and Geo and Mack make Bad Boys, Bad Boys very, very good. Because Mack and Geo have a solid friendship before the book starts, Bad Boys, Bad Boys is forty-four pages of them sorting out their feelings and then acting on them. Their connection through friendship transcends realistically into some incredibly hot sex. Intense kisses and desperate touches fill the pages. Short and sweet, Bad Boys, Bad Boys is the perfect erotic romance!

Note to self: "Mia, send thank you message to awesome reviewer, Nikki."

Bad Boys, Bad Boys (Total-E-Bound.com release 3/16--Monday)

“I need to get you home, buddy. You drink another, and you’ll pass out like you did last time you got deep and ponderous.” Mack stood.

Geo stood too although the room tilted. He felt the solid comfort of Mack’s arm around his back. Geo leaned in. Mack smelled good. Damn him. Fuckin’ A. Geo stumbled, his feet feeling like bricks though he didn’t think he’d had that much to drink.

“Only had four beers,” Geo grumbled.

“Six. And no food.”

“Fuck that. I can drink twice as many and still walk a straight line,” Geo argued.

“Yeah, that’s why I’m driving you home. ’Cause you’re sober and steady as a surgeon.”

“S’right. I love you, man.”

“Yep. Totally sober.” Mack grinned.

The cool air hit Geo square in the chest. He sucked in sharply and blinked when his eyes suddenly watered in the brisk November wind. He turned his face into Mack, bumping his nose against Mack’s temple.

Mack eased him into the passenger seat and fastened him in. His fingers grazed Geo’s hip, and it was everything Geo could do to keep from shifting his pelvis to force an ‘accidental’ touch to his cock when Mack withdrew.

Geo unfastened the belt.

“C’mon, man, I just got you in.”

Mack leaned over and re-belted him. Geo inhaled traces of piny scent at the juncture of his neck and shoulder. Without thinking too much about it, Geo slipped a free hand around Mack’s far shoulder and tugged.

Mack looked at him, instinctively.

It didn’t take more than a subtle lift of Geo’s chin to make contact. His mouth moved over Mack’s. Mack remained motionless, in retrospect, stunned. Geo sank into him, parting and capturing lips as buttery soft as the coat Mack wore.

He tasted the brine of beer and sweet cola. Something salty, too, like peanuts filtering through the dark erotic depths of his hot, sensual mouth.

Mack shoved Geo’s shoulder, knocking him against the seat. “What the fuck, Wilson? What the—Shit! What kind of fucking—Dude, you are fucked up!” Mack retreated, slamming the car door.

Mack muttered and paced, hands on his lean hips. He shot accusatory looks at Geo and ran his hands through his hair a few times. Long sexy fingers, dark satiny strands of hair. Fine ass.Geo leaned back. Yeah, he’d totally fucked up all right, but damn if it hadn’t been amazing.

5 Nymphs for Mia

Found this in my inbox: CLICK ME.
Many thanx to Literary Nymphs for a 5 out of 5 rating for Claimed by Darkness. According to their site, "5 Nymphs - An outstanding read. The reviewer found this book a credit to its genre!"

Would remind blog readers that Bad Boys, Bad Boys will be out March 16th at Total-E-Bound.

Other shit: Am attempting to join with fellow erotic writers for a podcast chat. Are working out the particulars for long distance methods to all be on cast at same time. Will provide more info as available.

Other-er shit: Rassles has me contemplating bacon. However saw Blog of Hilarity piece on making of. Have always enjoyed a cruncher but perhaps I should stay away from making of videos. Rather disturbing footage of pork sides. As I don't particularly have interest in Foreigner (same blog reference), may have to freeze and slice lead singer in order to enjoy. Whoever the hell he might be.

Note to self: "Mia, vegetarian bacon?"

Got Cover-ed

Have flu-head. The bugger is cannot antagonize new hires. Sound decidedly un-scary with stuffed nose and rasping voice. Colds are not sexy. Brought out binoculars but see nothing of interest in courtyard or across.

Did receive new cover for Bad Boys, March release. What say you?

Note to self: "Carry around bottle of Quianti to explain red nose. Preferable than truth."
