Kittehs.... I haz.

This is Suki pre-babies...
As she was contracting, she still rolled over on her back to let me scratch her belly. She's so sweet!
This is Grampa. "He" went looking for teats right away and was at a loss. "He" cruised up and down her body repeatedly then decided to dive between her legs. He grunted and complained the whole time. Then "he" turned out to be a "she". But her name stuck. :)

This is Hook. This is before he's fully cleaned and the rest of the hooked white portion is visible. It was very dark in there for Suki's peace. Sorry about the quality.
Grampa!
This is Scruff. She has a pale gray face. She's a little bit passive.
Teeny tiny Bedlam, curled in my palm and sleeping. This is when I knew she wasn't okay yesterday. She'd been sleeping away from the other kittens. I picked her up and she was weak. That she easily curled into a sleeping ball on my palm told me all was not well. She's a squeaker, and made no noise.
I'll find out today if I get to have the kits back. I needed to take them to the Humane Society vet since Bedlam was in a bad way. They were to be dropper feeding her all night long to gain her strength. :( I'll let you know how things go.

Kittens Everywhere... soon

Yesterday, I picked up one of these from the local Humane Society. She looks almost exactly like that. Actually, she's a kitten about a year old and she's having kittens. She's so sweet and I can't imagine anyone giving her up. Brownyn thinks that her owners threw her out when she "got knocked up". I think that's exactly what happened. Her little paw pads are slightly rough, as though she were recently turned out. Poor thing.

Oh, here's a better picture. This is actually very much like how she looks. Only my new kitty is almost wider than she is long. They think she's holding at least five in there. I was also notified that there are already five mommas looking for foster care. Since they don't have enough families, and kitten season is just beginning, I'm probably taking in another momma later on. Busy busy!

And why would I do this?

This is why! Who can resist this?

Now for some actual live shots. Let's see if this works. I tried to take pics of her and succeeded only in getting Bron to do it. LOL. Here's what we came up with.

Bron calls her Idina (Idina Menzle) because her bottom jaw juts forward a little. The nieces call her "Precious", which WON'T stay. Sorry, no. The HS told us to rename her, but she came in as "Priscilla". ACK! Not for a kitty, thank you.

We noticed last night, that just like my current feline queen, she has a heart shape on her leg. And being that the nieces like Manga beyond reason, I think we're going to go with "Suki". Fits her. Cute, petite and easy to say.

Look at that belly! She's so full! We'll probably see labor in a few days.
