Weekend Headlines

"US Government is investigating three possible terrorist threats... posted on the White House Facebook page."-- For real? Really?? First, the White House has a Facebook page? And second, a terrorist (theoretically some group that wants to be taken seriously) thought that posting threats on said page was a good idea? That's like writing a ransom note in crayon. And not regular crayon but those huge kindergarten crayons that you have to fist to color with.

"Cindy Lauper flubbed the American Anthem at a 9/11 Tennis Open match." -- Okay, who was the genius behind having Cindy Lauper represent ANYTHING serious on a national day of mourning? My fourteen year old heard it and said, "Huh. Home of the bwave?" Yep, that's right. Bwavewee is an important message to send on 9/11. So glad we picked a mature image for that one. Sorry, Cindy, but you will always be bubble gum pop from the 80s. This girl just wanted to have fun.

"Spartacus Star, Andy Whitfield dies at age 39" -- This actually made me very sad. I loved Andy in Spartacus and non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma is a horrible disease. RIP, Andy.

In other news, Cheryl Dragon sent me an email today to let me know that my book, Balls and Chain, is on All Romance Ebook's top ten list. Woot! It got a silver best seller star within two days of being listed on the sight, then hit the number one sell spot for three categories: Contemporary, Gay, and Erotic. While it stayed there for a week, it has dropped off that chart. Still, I'm number nine on the top ten for all sales on the site. I'm really okay with that. It's been a while since a book of mine has done that well on ARe.

I released a book yesterday. Actually AmberAllure.com released my book. Acting Out is the second book in the Hollywood series. I'm getting reader response to it already and it's really going over well. I'm very happy. Acting Out is Here.

I'm nearing the end of another super short for Ellora's Cave. They haven't seen it yet, so nothing is promised. It will be a Katie Blu piece. I'm also working on a super short Mia Watts story for Resplendence, and another super short for a new publisher I haven't approached yet.

At some point this week, I'll actually contact Louise Fury, agent extraordinaire, to discuss my future. She gave me an invitation to submit and golly, I think I'll take her up on it. If nothing else, I'll at least have a phone meeting with her to see where we both stand.

Otherwise, I have a book coming out on the 21st of September from Resplendence (Ooooo! Preeeettty). It's a lighthearted/humorous addition to the Balls books. The Policeman's Balls made me laugh while I wrote it. There's another Resplendence release for me next month on October 26th with Feral Lust. That one will be a Mia Watts book with shifters and Regency era goodness. Nothing like proper men behaving improperly. I'll post a blurb and excerpt later this week, along with a larger version of this cover. Les (cover artist) did a fantastic job, didn't he?

Have a great week everyone! If you missed it, I posted over at ThreeWickedWriters.blogspot.com last Thursday in an open "select-a-choice" letter to men about kissing dos and don'ts. It's short and designed for humor. If you need a chuckle, head on over there and leave me a comment.

Happy writing/reading folks!

So you're finally going to (legitimately) submit to Louise?

Congrats on the good news, and yeah...scratching my head over the Cyndi Lauper thing....

Why yes I am! :) She doesn't know it yet. She told me to email her and we'd set up a phone meeting to discuss. I'm cupping that promise in my hands and whispering things to it until it loses its shine...THEN I'll call so I can do it all over again. Or something.
