Kittens Everywhere... soon

Yesterday, I picked up one of these from the local Humane Society. She looks almost exactly like that. Actually, she's a kitten about a year old and she's having kittens. She's so sweet and I can't imagine anyone giving her up. Brownyn thinks that her owners threw her out when she "got knocked up". I think that's exactly what happened. Her little paw pads are slightly rough, as though she were recently turned out. Poor thing.

Oh, here's a better picture. This is actually very much like how she looks. Only my new kitty is almost wider than she is long. They think she's holding at least five in there. I was also notified that there are already five mommas looking for foster care. Since they don't have enough families, and kitten season is just beginning, I'm probably taking in another momma later on. Busy busy!

And why would I do this?

This is why! Who can resist this?

Now for some actual live shots. Let's see if this works. I tried to take pics of her and succeeded only in getting Bron to do it. LOL. Here's what we came up with.

Bron calls her Idina (Idina Menzle) because her bottom jaw juts forward a little. The nieces call her "Precious", which WON'T stay. Sorry, no. The HS told us to rename her, but she came in as "Priscilla". ACK! Not for a kitty, thank you.

We noticed last night, that just like my current feline queen, she has a heart shape on her leg. And being that the nieces like Manga beyond reason, I think we're going to go with "Suki". Fits her. Cute, petite and easy to say.

Look at that belly! She's so full! We'll probably see labor in a few days.

How adorable. What will you do with all the kitties?

Exciting! Are you keeping her or any of the kitties? Or just fostering?

Just fostering Suki (that's the name we decided on today). We want to keep her and one of her kittens. But otherwise the other kittens return to the HS in eight weeks after birth. :( Gonna miss them, I'm sure, but they need homes and solid attention.

Awwwwww! We did the same thing, got a year old kitty that was knocked up and she gave birth in my daughter's closet. She was the best cat ever and she had three great kittens that we kept - she was a wonderful mom. We called her Kitty - creative, right? And she had Norman, Nolan and Frisky.
I'm so happy for you! Let us know!

Babies!! Suki has babies!!! There were six born, but one didn't make it. She just couldn't move around and though her mama cleaned her up, she couldn't get the sweet thing to wiggle.

So, we now have five thriving kittehs of wonder. Two look like Suki's back (stripey) with a fluff of white up the nose to the forehead. One of those is a boy. Another one is solid black. One is stolid stripey. The last is black with white feet and a white hook of color up the left eye and curling over the forehead to stop at the left eye. He will be named "Hook", for obvious reasons.

I'll post pictures tomorrow. They are so sweet.
