According to plan...

I'd love to be able to use the above phrase, like all those spy movies do. "Everything's going according to plan." Or, "If all goes according to plan, the world will be saved!"

It's day ten of the new year, and except for bills coming in and the garbage collection days, nothing has gone according to plan. It's gone close to plan, squinty-eyed near plan, with in throwing distance of plan, perhaps. But not right along the line of "plan".

It's like that joke: "If you want to make God laugh, tell Him what your plans are."

I think someone up there is laughing. Fortunately for me, I have a plan sling-shot. I'm still aiming at the plan and if I hit it, I've attached some super sticky stuff which will hopefully adhere, so that future deviations from plan-age won't occur so readily.

It might have something to do with the celebration of both my nieces' birthdays. This week. And the fact that I kind of got a promotion at the day job, which is rather like my night one, and all of it is done at home. Which is confusing. Promotion implies new title, new money, new office or something. My promotion is, "Hey, Mia! You get to work more hours!!! YAAAYYY!!!!!" And the fact that those hours are paid hours does indeed mean I get to "yay" with them. Okay, I also LIKE my hourly work. Quite a bit. So basically, I'm complaining for no reason at all.

I did, however, complete and return my cover request for Faking Perfection over at Dreamspinner. While both Dreamspinner and Amber Quill have given me a tentative release date, those aren't open for sharing yet. I have to go through the full editing process before a firm date is revealed. They both tell me that the tentative date is almost always firm, unless something comes up. I *think* that translates to: "Depending on how much of an editing Diva you are, here's your possible release date." They are super cheery about it, and I understand the hidden message. I'm sure there are editing complications in every house. Generally, I'm not one of them. Generally.

At least, I try not to be. There are very few things I put my foot down on once a book is finished and submitted. I love my editors. They are superb at their jobs and make me look good. So why argue?

So today, and getting back to plan-like lingo, I have to juggle a few appointments and hopefully write 5k on my top secret pen name menage book. But, *wink*, if you happen to cruise over to Total-E-Bound or Ellora's Cave, and you happen to *wink* *wink* see some books by author Katie Blu *wink* *wink* *wink*, whom you've never read before, and you like male/female erotica, then picking one up for a quick read could be a good thing to prepare you for my super top secret stealth identity.

I'm just sayin'.
;)

Have a good one! I know I will.
