Miagi say...

Okay, so sometimes I get really bored when I watch something. I'll keep watching it, though, because I feel like I should. It's one of those cultural reference type movies like, Pretty Woman, Casablanca, or in this case, Karate Kid.

I don't like Ralph Macchio--I don't even know how to spell his name, I care so little. I REALLY don't like his acting. I do like the Miagi actor though. So, when watching the obligatory cultural reference movie watching extravaganza of Karate Kid occurred, I decided to keep a list of all the things Miagi said which are phrased in that Confucius Say, method.

I like some of them a lot. Some make me laugh. For the sake of nostalgia, I thought I'd post them here for you. Sit back, kick your feet up, and soak up the cultural references.

To make honey, young bee need young flower, not old prune.

In Okinawa belt mean no need rope hold up pants.

Karate just like road. Walk on right side: safe. Walk on left side: safe. Walk down middle, *squick* you get squashed like grape.

Always look the eye

Man who catch fly with chopstick, accomplish anything.

Must learn walk first, then fly

If you put passion before principle, you will not win. You will lose.

Honor has no time limit. Honor is very serious.

Lie become truth only if person want to believe it.

Never keep lady waiting

This have nothing to do with honor-garbage. This have to do with saving village.
